" DJ Fabio: Global Enemies... This tune is gonna be big. Deep, deep stuff!
NU:TONE (Hospital): Lynx and Kemo doing something different from the norm, and succeeding! - Definitely a force to be reckoned with!
Funktastics (Spin Recordings): Global Enemies... Is that Lartyx doing dnb ? No it's Kemo and Lynx ! Original beats, original flows, finally something fresh taking over the dnb scene. Reminiscent of the Lyrics Born style. For the lovers of that dark hip hop flavor with a 174 bpm twist
Pipeline (chicago Vibez, Phunkfiction, The Seminar): it's the shit
Redeyes (Bingo): Lynx got some of the most exciting music comin around and he found in his vocalist partner his alter ego in originality/creativity, mr Kemo. With these two... expect somethn you've never heard before, watch out for "Global Enemies" out on Soulr and you can imagine what they are capable of accomplishing next.
BTK (Identity): Global Enemies... With creative and edgy beats and with great lyrics by kemo, this track is one of my favorites.
Stunna Chicago: Lynx and Kemo joining forces breathes new air and fills the void into something sorely lacking: Drum + Bass with a message.
Commix: Global Enemies.... Best Hip Hop / DnB crossover since Goldie and Krs1.
Doc Scott: A really important new artist in my eyes is Lynx, he has some tunes coming out on Soul:r (Marcus's label) and my label 31 records. The kid is so bright and innovative, he expresses such musical freedom in his forms and sound scape's and hasn't been scared into conforming to those cookie cutter tune templates that so many artists fall into in this day and age.
Ashatack: Something new, something fresh! Badboys Lynx & Kemo creating big people beats for big people in the scene who know about music! This is such a wicked crossover inspirational for all dnb producers. BIG!
Atlantic Connection: Global Enemies has brought completely new combinations of approaches to vocal fused drum and bass, if this is Indicative of future work, Lynx & Kemo are gonna be massive.
Alix Perez: Carnivale - Haunting, spooky yet oozing with soul, once again Lynx and Kemo deliver a slice of future soul. Eerie strings, infectious vocals all driven by a combination of gliding basslines, stabs and erratic beats. Soldiers.
Hayze, Sonorous: Groundbreaking & next level music from Lynx & Kemo.
KEIR - Kiss FM Melbourne, AUS: Global Enemies - One of the most innovative and inspiring collaborations i've heard in years, these boys are in a league if their own!
Kano Sinuous Records: When DJ Lynx steps up you always get great production skills and this is no exception. A great mixture of hip hop cross funky dnb, if you are a fan of Roni Size Reprazent album you will definitely enjoy this track. Kaboom!
Artificial Intelligence: Global Enemies - perfect intro tune. Future sounds next level business
Deejay Chemical: For me Kemo and Lynx are bringing a totally fresh sound to dnb, there is nothing like it out there, original and pushing new boundaries with a handful of releases out now / in the pipeline - do not sleep, catch em now.........
DJ Lee: For the 1st time in a while a duo that are carving a new sound within D&B , thank God for Lynx & Kemo.
EZ Rollers: Global Enemies - Mysterious and hypnotic, hiphop dnb with some deep funk! Tidy... quality piece of music.

"Kemo. An MC who understands delivering quality, flow and enjoyment to his listeners. Sounds like a typical press text? But it's not! Kemo's voice is convincing on records and at live shows. Whether it's Drum'n'Bass, Breaks, Downtempo or Hip Hop. There is nothing that couldn't be flowed on. In close cooperation with musicians from England, Austria, Lithuania, Germany and the USA, Kemo produces a large bandwidth of quality music. This cultural diversity is definitely a bonus that can be seen, heard and felt. Unfortunately we are only interviewing Kemo by E-Mail and hope to be able to see him perform live soon.
When did you start writing and creating music?
Music has always been my greatest passion. From elementary school onward I was in various choirs, theater groups and bands. In fourth grade I started listening to a lot of Hip Hop. Beastie Boys, EPMD, Gangstarr, BDP. The classics. The other kids just didn't get it. A couple of high school kids, however, would freestyle on the basketball court after school. I joined the circle and they tried to teach me how to beatbox. I still suck at it, though. That's when I fell in love with Hip Hop, freestyle and live music. I was really into the metaphors, the word play and the art of improvising. Back then I just memorized other people's lyrics.
Your lyrics are very visual. How did you develop this skill?
We moved around a lot when I was a kid and I read a lot. I guess that's where I developed my wild imagination. I've always loved writing poetry and short stories. I use words to paint the pictures in my head, which my hands can't paint. In High School my imagination grew through films. I am an absolute film junkie. That becomes clear when hearing or reading my lyrics. Unfortunately, I once had some difficulties, which left a few scars, and rounded off the development of my world of imagery. If I don't let out these images, I'd probably go insane. Like dude in Butterfly Effect. I guess you could say, that since my creation I have written paintings and breathed music.
"England, Austria, Lithuania, Germany, USA"… How did this global network of artists come about?
I have a very international background. My family and friends are spread all over the world, I have moved a lot and I went to an international school. Actually, I am doing this interview by computer on Hawaii, where I am visiting family. When you are as fortunate as I am, to be able to travel so much, it really is a small world! And the internet brings us even closer together. I have a global soul and the mindset of a millennium kid. I meet friends and fellow musicians in Instant Messenger activate video chat, and the producer in England is suddenly right there, in my studio. For free and in real-time. You gotta love that. Oh, and MySpace is great for connecting, too. Lynx and I met there. We never met personally, till a couple of months ago – after our successful, worldwide release of "Global Enemies". When possible, I prefer being in the same room, but this digital connection is a great supplement. I neither believe in borders nor in time. I believe in energy and creative impulses. And they are all around us.
So you travel a lot. Do you still find enough time to produce, compose, write, etc?
Time?! Oh man, there is so much I would do if I had more time. I haven't produced independently in quite some time. What I do now is let my ideas flow into the projects I work on. And the producers I work with do such a great job; I don't really miss it that much anymore. I get inspired so much when I travel; I truly believe it adds to my art more than it takes away time from it. I write on the beach and take home samples, instruments and ideas. I experience foreign imagery, music, culture, people and nature, and that is reflected in my music / art. Photography is another passion of mine and I plan to publish a book depicting all of the wonderful places I have been. But the album and the other music projects have priority.
You are doing an album?
For the longest time, I didn't want to do an album, because I feel albums need to be ripe and complete. I have a high standard for myself and those I work with. But now the time is finally right, and there will be a Lynx&Kemo album out on Soul:R in about 6 months time. It's very exciting for me. Lynx is the hottest Drum'n'Bass producer at the moment and it's a great privilege for me to work with him. Without wanting to sound conceited, I truly believe this album is going to have a huge impact on the scene – and it will also get a lot of people outside of Drum'n'Bass interested in it. "Global Enemies" was just the beginning. The revolution is near.
Sounds very promising! I really dig "Global Enemies"!
Thank you. That really means a lot to me. I think it's a great tune, too. "Global Enemies" got some great reviews, airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1 Xtra and several other stations around the world, and it is being championed by many top cats.
I read DJ Fabio exclaiming "This tune is gonna be big. Deep, deep stuff!"
Cousin, it's amazing. You know, you grow up with what those guys do, and develop so much respect for them, their art and their opinion. So getting so much support from people you admire is incredible. Marcus (Intalex) is really pushing things forward. I am truly honored to be part of this amazing movement.
I heard another deep tune of yours in the RBMA radio show. "Carnivale"?
Yeah. The second single "Carnivale" is hitting the stores in a few weeks and has already caused quite a stir. Currently, these tracks are only available on vinyl, but they can be purchased as Mp3s in November. The album is scheduled for spring 2008 and will be available on vinyl, CD and as Mp3s.
What other projects are you working on at the moment?
Another hot project I am working on is the collaboration with the Homewreckers. Their album, which features me on 4 tracks, is being released on Unique Records. The first single "It's about Time" is scheduled for September. Also, I am constantly working on new dance floor hits with Matt Flores on Combination Records. Like "Ignoranz Shmignoranz" featuring my man Prosper Jones, from Chicago.
That quickly became a radio hit with heavy rotation on FM4, several college stations, even BBC 1 Xtra. But it hasn't been released as a single yet?
Correct. It was on a Combination Records compilation. The CD can be ordered from the Juno Records Website (www.juno.co.uk).
Working with so many different people, doesn't the diversity become a problem?
Definitely not. Life is so diverse, as is my history and my being. If I had more time and the right people, I would start a rock band. You do need to be careful not to confuse listeners, though. That´s why I use different aliases and project names.
Where do you feel at home?
Yeah, I have issues with that. I am very grateful for having been raised so internationally and for being able to travel so much. However, herein lays my melancholic side. Global souls feel Weltschmerz and sometimes feel alone. It's easy for me to embrace new places and people – to fit in – but there is a constant pulling on my soul. It's least strong when I am under the sun and near the ocean, like here on Hawaii. "Fathered by the ocean, I am the rain under the moon, tap-dancing to the sound, of my mother tongue". The ocean is my father, the sun is my mother. I am the rain. I travel the world, and can rest anywhere. But I guess my true home is the tropical paradise.
Where do you get the ideas for your songs?
When I hear music, I see pictures. I write them down and they take me on a journey. I get inspired by women, films, books, travel, nature, politics, and society. Life, I suppose."
